Drive Belt Split Around middle

Hi, Please do not shoot the messenger! You are asking and I will tell you so please don't give me a poor rating for telling you the truth. If the belt split up the middle the tension was too tight. The tension bars are not exactly round but thicker in the middle to aid in tracking, and if the tension is too tight, that thicker area is where it will stress fracture. Sorry, but now you know for the next one. The correct tension would be just after it quits slipping. Good Luck this should Fixya!

Healthrider 500sel When Iam walking or running around 5mph, the belt is jerky and stops as I put my foot down. I have checked the belt and it seems tight as per the manual. I took the motor cover off and watched the motor while I was walking and it looks like the connection between the motor and belt stops. Is there a cluch adjustment? The motor keeps running but the drive stops on every footstep

B) Walking Belt/Motor Belt too Tight: If you have adjusted the walking belt or motor belt recently, check for this problem. When the belts start slipping, some people just crank down the belts and on treadmills, tighter is not necessarily better. The tighter the belts, the more the drive system has to work to keep everything moving. You should be able to lift the walking belt (with the treadmill unplugged) in the center of the treadmill about 3" without straining. Tighter belts should be loosen but make sure you don't create a dangerous slipping situation by loosening. The motor belt (with the treadmill unplugged) should be able to be turned by hand to almost a 90 degree angle from its normal operating position. Loosen the belt if too tight. Make sure to test for slipping and if it does with the proper tension, replace the motor belt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPI6dFJCUA4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oeXTKqWECw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF3OyQ3HwfU&feature=related sincerely. I have a Kettler Condor Elliptical and when I use it I am getting a squeeking sound from around the wheel area (like a belt is misaligned??). Any ideas? I am afraid of taking anything apart, so at this point I have done nothing to try to fix it.

Do you still have your manual? I kind of remember running into this, I think it was something simple( sorry I can't recall!) like lubrication or uneven alignment (fixed by adjusting the feet). I don't see the condor on the kettler USA site, but they still may be able to help.

We have a 590t that is @ 2 months old. It has gradually developed a clicking noise that is most noticeable at lower speeds. I called the company and was advised to remove the drive belt to see if it still made the noise. I did that and plugged it in and the motor did not make the noise, but when I turned the waling belt by hand the clicking noise was still there, even without the drive belt being on. So I know that its not the motor or drive belt, although now I can't seem to get the drive belt back on, either. Any suggestions would be welcome. Jeff

Hey Jeff, You will have to loosen the 2 bolts that hold the drive motor on to the frame, then stretch the drive belt and rotate the flywheel until is fully engaged on the pulley then tighten the bolts. Hope this helps
