Suggested Questions And Answer :

Why wont my Omron Blood Pressure Monitor work?

I contacted the manufacturer here is the response with information to contact them yourself if this does not help. I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue with your readings and would be happy to assist you in determining where the problem lies. Initially, I would like to provide you with some basic user information on factors that could impact the quality of your readings enough to cause the E error message you have been receiving. I will follow that with some critical steps that you must take in order to obtain a reading on your Omron unit. User technique is important for reliable measurement results. Listed below are the common causes why you may get an erroneous reading: Cuff Size - Measure the circumference of your wrist. If the incorrect cuff is used, you may get an inaccurate reading or error messages, if not at the first reading, then after a short period of use because the cuff bladder will be damaged. To determine your wrist size, measure your wrist approximately ½” above your wrist bone using a cloth tape measure. Wrap the tape measure evenly around your wrist. Do not pull the tape tight. *The cuff that came with your unit is appropriate for wrist circumferences of 5 ¼ to 8 ½ inches. If your wrist circumference is not within that range, your readings will be inaccurate or you may receive error messages. Cuff Application - Make sure you are wrapping the cuff around your wrist in the correct position. The cuff should be wrapped snugly around your wrist. If your wrist monitor can be used on either the left or right wrist, make sure you have set the monitor to the wrist you are using. *If the cuff is wrapped too tightly or too loosely, your readings will be inaccurate or you could receive an error message. Before Taking a Measurement - Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for 30 minutes and rest for 15 before starting the measurement. Avoid taking a measurement during stressful times. Take the measurement in a quiet place. Body Position - Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. If you do not have your wrist at heart level, your reading will be affected. Holding your arms or shoulders tensely may affect the reading. Remain quiet while taking the measurement. The E error message is telling us that the unit is recognizing some type of interference while taking the reading. This could be as simple as speaking or moving, having a computer, cell phone or medic alert device too close to the phone, a loud television/radio in the same room or more complicated, such as a rapid or weak arterial pulse. Reading Timing - Because Omron units read your blood pressure by 'listening' to the blood as it vibrates through the artery, the artery must be fully opened for an accurate reading. It is critical to wait a full 5-10 minutes between readings to allow the brachial artery to 'bounce back' from the initial constriction. Refer to the Instruction Manual provided with the unit for the complete operating instructions. If after reviewing the information above your unit is still not functioning properly, in order to best serve you, please call our Consumer Support team, toll-free at 800-634-4350. Our trained representatives are available Monday through Friday, 830a to 430p CST to assist you over the phone and try to resolve your issue without sending your unit in for repair. If repair is necessary, they can set up your file to start the process or provide valuable options to your particular situation. Please have the following information available in order to expedite your call: 1. Model number (from the front of the unit) 2. Serial number (from the sticker on the side of the unit) 3. Proof of purchase information - from the receipt or online verification. 4. The wrist circumferences of all users of your unit. They will be happy to assist you with your options regarding service. We appreciate your interest in Omron products and want to ensure your satisfaction. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance and have a wonderful day!Jon McGillicuddy Customer Service Representative Consumer SupportOmron Healthcare, Inc.

No instruction manual for a LifeSource chest/wristwatch monitor -

Not sure that you are talking about a blood pressure monitor or a heart rate monitor. The blood pressure monitor that you listed as the device you are asking about the manual is here http://www.lifesourceonline.com/and_med.nsf/html/WEBB6FKQFC/$FILE/UA767Plus.pdf if you are talking about a heart rate monitor , which it sounds like because those have watches and chest bands that is something different. i would need to know what kind of heart rate monitor it is. A few tips on the devices, you will need to dampen the contacts on the band, make sure you place it in direct contact with your skin, under your pectoral muscle, if you are female then it goes under your sports bra band. i always reccomend jumping on a machine for a little warm up then starting the watch. I noticed you said that you changed the battery i hope you sent the watch in to the manufacturer to change, sometimes it comes out ok but alot of times it doesn't work there are sensative devices in the watch that can get messed up very easily.

The incline setting on my Proform 550 Epic View is all the way up to 12% and will not go down. I can hear the motor working when I press another incline setting but it does not go down anymore. The monitor displays the incline at 0%. When I click on the incline down button a few times it shows 12% and the monitor goes down to like 9% and then resets to 0% and will not go down at all. The motor for the incline seems to be working as I hear it trying to work..but it does not go down. What is wrong?

The incline adjustment is done this way in your machine: a motor is attached to the platform with a hinge; at its shaft is attached a worm screw; on it there's a threaded bushing which is attached to a lever situated on an rotating shaft - when the motor turns the bushing is moved up the worm screw which pushes on the lever which rotates so it lifts the platform If you can hear the motor turning but nothing happens it means that this mechanism is faulty: 1 - the connection between the motor shaft and the screw has broken - fix it2 - the friction in the bushing and the joints is too much for the motor - clean and oil thoroughly the entire mechanism3 - the screw or the bushing are damaged - replace them.Unfortunately finding replacement part will be difficult -this is an older model that is no longer in production.
