Image 17.0 Treadmill is stuck in incline position and will not go down. I do not plan to use the include at all, is there a manual way to move the incline to 0? Any suggestions?

Hello there, The first thing I would try is to calibrate the incline on the unit. Do this using the following procedure. With the safety key out, press the stop button along with the speed up button while inserting the safety key onto the unit. remove your fingers from all buttons, Then press the stop button one time. Now press the incline up button one time. The unit should go all the way to the top, then return to the bottom. Remove the safety key and reinsert it to continue using the machine If this does not work you can manually move the machine to the bottom using this procedure. Remove the hood cover b removing 2 screws in the rear of the machine and removing the first 2 screws on the foot rails on each side. You can now lift the cover out of the way. At this point you will see the incline motor located in the center of the unit pointing in a downward direction. On the top of the motor there will be a small fan encased inside of a metal cover. There will be a flat head screw located inside the metal frame where the fan is. Rotate this clockwise to lower the unit. (the motor is geared very high it may not seem as though it is moving but it is) be patient that procedure does take a little while. Any questions please feel free to leave another message on this link. Good Luck! Tim

The treadmill is stuck on "incline." Any time we put the red key on it to turn it on, it just keeps moving up and down from 0 incline to 10. It does this over and over again without stopping. No buttons respond.

I can't solve this, but my Nordic Track T5 zi occasionally does the same thing. The previous two times, I waited until the unit "bottomed out", and then pulled the mag switch (key) off. I unplugged the unit, then plugged it back in, attached the key, and all was well. This worked twice before, but today (3/8/2011)the unit's incline is cycling again, and the old fix isn't working. Maybe it will need to go back to Sears! Unit was purchased in October of 2010. Frustrating.

Run the software calibration for troubleshooting and fix it. See the next steps. God bless you The Steps for Newer Style Console Calibration Locate the calibration area on the rear or underside of the console (a hole, near the console's center, that goes through to the electronics board. (This hole should not have a screw in it.) Insert a pencil (eraser end), into the hole and feel around for the cal button (will click when pressed). Press the button 2 times (with the pencil eraser). The first click should show CL11 in the console, the second click should show CL21. If the process was done correctly, and CL21 appears in the console, you are in "calibration mode." The next few steps consists of pressing buttons on the console and observing settings. This will not require any other tools. Press ENTER. CL22 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window. Press ENTER. CL23 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window. Press ENTER. CL26 should display in the TIME window. You should then see the letter "E." Press ENTER. You should see "SS" or "55" in the console. Push the STOP/START button. For safety, at this point, you should step off, or be off, the treadmill. Push the ENTER button. The walking belt should start to move, accelerate to maximum speed, then stop on its own. When the belt stops, the incline should self test by raising to its highest incline position, then lowering back down to its lowest position. Once the incline test is complete, push the POWER button 2 times. The unit should shut off and the console should go completely blank. If this happens, the treadmill is done calibrating and is ready for use. If the letter "F" appears in the SPEED or INCLINE window when the power button is pressed 2 times, the treadmill is indicating a failure somewhere either in the SPEED or INCLINE (depending on the window the "F" appeared in). Troubleshooting the failure would be the next step. Lube the elevation motor, shaft and gear. adjust the POTentiomer,
