My Nordic Track Exp 1000 X runs in reverse.

Hi, Your treadmill runs on a permanent magnet DC motor. If it is running backwards someone has swapped the pos and neg leads where it connects to the motor control board MC-60. OR the brushes were removed from the motor, and installed into the WRONG locations. there is a plus sign and a neg sign on the end cap of the motor, make sure the RED wire is going to the pos sign,.and so forth. to get to the motor you'll need to remove the 4 phillips head screws FROM the bottom of the motor enclosure: lay the unit on it's side to get to them. 2 in the front,.and 1 on each side. If it doesn't come off easy,.you've missed a screw. Lay the unit back down, and start digging in. Lastly, you can verify the MC-60 is outputting the wrong polarity voltage with a voltmeter. Disconnec the motor and connect your voltmeter on a 20 volt DC range ( at least). plug your unit in, and turn it on at 3 mph. you should see positive voltage applied to the read lead. It's very unlikely that the control board would swap the polarity, so, my bet is,...the wires are switched. good luck.

I have a Nordic Track EXP1000 that wad purchased

Go to click on manual input manufacturer and model name 1000. Try this calibration procedure: 1) Press the Stop and the Speed Up keys down while inserting the safety key. If this doesn’t work, click on the help topic entitled “Alternate Calibration Codes” for key sequence instructions to enter calibration.2) Press the Stop key one time. The Time window should read EP:2P. Some newer models may also say FP, Pass, or the like. This means that it passes the EPROM test.3) Press either incline key and the incline will calibrate automatically.4) BE CAREFUL, THE TREADMILL WILL RUN AT FULL SPEED IN THIS NEXT MODE! DO NOT STAND ON THE WALKING BELT. Press the Speed Up key and hold it down until 85 is shown in the Distance window (some models may show the 85 number in another window).5) If the top speed of the treadmill does not match the displayed speed on the computer console, adjust the max speed potentiometer (pot) on the motor control board. This is the board that the red and black motor wires connect directly into in the motor area. The Max Speed pot is clearly labeled.6) The max speed potentiometer is a small square with a mobile center and is located in one corner of the board and is labeled MAX SPD. It is near the harness that carries the speed signal labeled H,W,L. Using a small insulated screwdriver adjust this potentiometer clockwise to speed up and counter-clockwise to slow down the max speed of the treadmill. A tiny turn of this potentiometer will make a big difference in speed so be careful when making adjustments.7) It is not important to get the speed set exactly at the max speed of the treadmill but do make sure to get the speed within .2 MPH of the max speed of the treadmill. For instance if the max speed of the treadmill is 10 MPH, make sure to have the speed set between 9.8 MPH and 10.2 MPH. Some models have a 12 MPH top speed, so please check your manual if you aren’t sure.8) THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP BECAUSE YOU WILL GET AN ERROR MESSAGE IF THIS STEP IS SKIPPED.After completing calibration of the speed, press the Speed Down key. The treadmill will automatically return to 0 MPH. Please allow the unit to stop completely before continuing.9) THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP BECAUSE YOU WILL GET AN ERROR MESSAGE IF THIS STEP IS SKIPPED.Press the Stop key once and remove the safety key.If you still do not have belt movement then call iconfitness @ 1-800 999-3756

I have a C2155. In the middle of a run, the treadmill stopped working, but the display remained lit. After looking through the manual I found out it must have gone into demo mode (it's never done that before in 3 years). As stated in the manual to exit demo mode, I held down the Stop button for a few seconds. All that did was turn off the display. I tried toggling the power and the circuit breaker, but nothing happened. None of the console buttons work either which leads me to believe the treadmill is still in demo mode only now with the display turned off. Please tell us how to get the treadmill to run properly again. Thanks.

Http:// that the treadmill is plugged into a grounded outlet using the correct surge suppressor. Use a UL 1449 suppressor listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS). It must be rated for 15 amps and 120 volts AC. Secure the services of an electrician if the outlet is not grounded, or move the Proform treadmill near a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord. 2 Insert the safety key fully into the display. Treadmills with keys are designed not to turn on without the safety key in place. 3 Find the circuit breaker on the front of the frame and make sure it is not tripped. The circuit breaker is a vertical switch on the 540S and a horizontal switch on the 540 Interactive Trainer. Press it to the "Reset" position, which will be labeled. 2. Reed Switch o 1 Unplug the treadmill and remove the safety key. o 2 Move the upright base of the treadmill down with the help of another person and lift the uprights so that you can get to the underside of the console. Use a Phillips screwdriver with at least a 5-inch shaft to remove the screws. There are five hood screws on the 540 Interactive trainer and four screws on the 540S. o 3 Remove the motor hood to get to the small reed switch by pivoting the hood off the frame. Find the reed switch and magnet, which are on the left side of the pulley for both models. o 4 Turn the pulley with your hand until the reed switch aligns with the magnet. There should be 1/8-inch gap between the two. Fix the distance so that it is 1/8 inch by loosening the reed switch screw and sliding it to the correct distance. Tighten the screw. o 5 Reverse the directions to put the hood back on and the treadmill upright in the original position. Watch this videos:
