I have a New Balance 1400 treadmill (manufactured by FitnessQuest) that won't stay powered up. Turning on from the main power switch, I hear a beep and a relay activate on the lower board, the console screen lights up, shows the initialization screen, gets to normal treadmill screen, but then goes dim. The console power button doesn't work to turn the machine on. Per a customer service rep suggestion, I checked the lower board ceramic fuse, which had continuity, and the "reset" switch near the main power switch. I also verified that the safety key switch was working. Thinking it was the power button, I opened it up and tried to short out the switch contacts but it didn't work. I also didn't see any overheated/melted/burned components or blown capacitors on either the lower motor circuit board or the upper console circuit board. I hate to throw this thing away, but it may be too expensive to repair. Can anyone suggest something else to check?

The only weak spot on the main controller board is the small rechargeable battery or a lithium button cell. The memory battery is to keep the parameter information. When the battery is damaged the liquid (electrolytic) drips downward on to other electronic items. Any items under the "drip" pathway will need to be inspected and clean. The battery can be on the front or rear on the main board, Spend some time to locate this battery, A simple $12 item can stop the unit from operating! Please email me the part number or spec, info on the battery on reply.

Hi, there seems to be some sort of electrical or software problem with my treadmill (york monza elite plus.) I only bought it yesterday (new) and it has run for a total time of under an hour. I noticed on my first use (at about 50 minutes) that the console screen 'blacked out', yet the treadmill continued to function. Going to use the machine again later, the buttons on the console would not respond but when I switched the machine off and then on at the back, the startup screen would automatically be displayed (without pushing any of the console buttons.) Occasionally, startup will get so far as to allow me to select a couple of functions but then cuts out again, making the treadmill unusable. Initially, I used a powerboard to connect the lead to the wall. I have since moved the treadmill so that I can plug it directly into the wall. I have since tried 'resetting' (including unplugging the power cord at both ends) but still only get a startup screen with buttons that don't respond. Any suggestions? Thanks

Treadmill buttons don't work right. TV won't turn off. Treadbelt won't run.

1) Try to reconnect the plug between console and pcboard very well. 2)Clean the contacts with special contact cleanear( radio schack or computer store) with carefully only the buttons, if you can open the cover better. 3) adjust the Sensor SWITHC. 4) Look for any wire loose, or making bad contact, or break wiring( continuity) test the fuse and breaker. If after you did those steps, and the problem persist, the console board is faulty.but first change the sensor switch, you must be shure after adjustment.
