Watch this Videos:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38w4PkiWIBYhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch6Mix_FV00 You should not adjustthese since they are preset. Tension can be affectedslightly by adjusting the tension of the walking belt but if you have a slippingproblem, the drive belt will require replacement. If yourdrive belt is too loose, it will slip on the front roller pulley or the motorpulley. If it is too tight, it will increase your amp draw to the point thatyou may have an electronics or motor problem. Due to this, it is better to beon the safe side and replace a drive belt rather than riskover tightening it. A drive belt is usually $29.99 or less while many parts youcan damage by over tightening can be more than $300.Additionally, too much tension can cause bearing failure in the motor and thefront roller and front roller pulley failure. It is better to err onhaving the belt a little too tight rather than too loose due to the possibilityof injury if the belt slips. Motor Belt Adjustment-Icon Units Do not remove any of themounting bolts to the motorthese repairs will require 2 9/16" wrenches andmayrequire two people to accomplish the repairs Before beginning this repair: Check to make certain that the drive belt requiresadjustment. Check out belt slipping instructions or with the motor cover removed, walk on the belt normally and try to stall the belt to make it slip. Be careful during this test. If theproblem is in the drive belt, eitherthe drive belt will stop when stalled or the front roller will stop whenstalled. If the motor, drive belt, and front roller continue to turn when thewalking belt is stalled, the problem is with the walking belt slipping on thefront roller. If the drive belt continues to turn but the frontroller stalls, you may have a broken front roller pulley. If you need further assistance, please reach me, sincerely G-d bless you. Hello - when I turn on my reebok treadmill, the only buttons that work are start and incline (incline works most of the time). All of the other buttons do not work. Its a Reebok Vista RBTL13305 model...I took off the motor panel and loosened the display board backing ...not sure why though because I don't know what to look for. I paid ~$800 for it about 3 yrs ago...I've used 50-75 and I'd really rather not have someone out here for $200-300...any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. Best Regards, Sebastian Jano

Let me know if you find a solution. I am having the same problem and cant figure it out. It turns on and will start but none of the other buttons work. Its so frustrating.

Belt is slipping

This is caused by one of three problems. First and most likely, the walking belt is loose. To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns. If it takes more than 2 turns then something else is the problem. The second problem that it could be is the drive belt might be loose. To tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down. The third problem that it could be is the walking belt could be worn and need to be replaced. Let me know if you have any questions.

Proform 840 belt feels bumpy when in motion. Treadmill is over 10 years old, but has not been used regularly over those years. I started to use again a few months ago for running and very occasionally would feel it slip a little. The last time I tried to start it, the belt felt bumpy under my feet. It was a different feeling than before when it would slip, because this is constant, with every step and it feels like there are bumps in the belt. I am trying to determine if this is even worth repair. I purchased this from Sears and they want to charge me $100 just to come out and diagnose what the problem is. From the description I'm giving, are you able to ball park what the problem might be and what the parts typically run? Thanks so much.

I don't think it needs a part - I believe the walking belt just needs to be adjusted - if you don't know how to do this then give me a call and perhaps I can walk you through it - my name is Dewayne

I just got this treadmill from a friend at work. She had it about 2 years and already had replaced the motor in it. Her son never used it after the motor replacement and hardly had used it before that. When I used it for the first time at my home after about 1-2 minutes the speed will change and sometimes come to a complete stop. Yes it is hooked up with a surge protector and the belt is not to tight. Do you have any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Most of the time its caused from not lubricating between the treadmill belt and deck. This causes friction and the surfaces wear putting greater stress on the electronics. The treadmill is shutting down to protect the electronics. You should stop using the treadmill .Do the following Watching the videos:1)Mechanical adjustment and lubrication http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=USSgbsZbDLQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKbAqvuOBS0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=KiEZDNe0F8Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjrVjYe2LYQ&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuMjcPLYehw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX_0vRPdMfU&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXeHMWTcLUY&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxpOOPetVLoIf the problem persist go to Test the electrical and electronic section:2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgb2TY3WCkg&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oeXTKqWECw&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPI6dFJCUA4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF3OyQ3HwfU&feature=relatedhttp://www.fixya.com/support/r10724803-measure_voltage_in_transforme_fitnesshttp://www.fixya.com/support/r10786838-test_procedure_dc_motor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23ZgWaVEQjA

Reebok i run treadmill stops working after 10 mins

If everything still works but no belt movement, you motor controller is more than likely shot. If replacing you want to also pay attention to the deck and belt. Sence it sut down while running, it sound it an over heating problem which is usually caused from too much friction between the walking belt and the deck(the board under it) May require lube or may need replacing.
